Yarn bases
We offer several luxurious yarn bases, primarily sourced from British and Falklands wool. You'll find details of each base and more information about the sheep breed and origin on our yarn product pages.

Combed Tops
Combed tops are hand dyed and weighed to be approximately 100g (unless stated otherwise). Please allow a 5% margin of error in fibre weight, as the lengths must be pulled apart by hand (and not cut!). The stock of wool and fibre blends will vary over time so keep popping back to see what's on offer.
Blended Fibre
We stock some mill-dyed fibres which have been custom blended to our specification. These include fibres which cannot be dyed using our processes and other interesting blends to try.
From time to time we may also have hand-carded fibres in stock, these will vary according to stock (and whim)! These are likely to include blends of hand dyed wools and other fibres. Carded fibre batts are ideal for spinning woollen-drafted, lofty yarns and tweedy blends.
Mulesing
Welfare is incredibly important to us and none of our wool comes from mulesed sheep.
Dye process
All combed tops & yarns are hand dyed by Kat using professional acid dyes. Where mutiple skeins are available, they are from the same dye batch, however our dye technique produces unique skeins so we recommend you alternate skeins if using more than one in a single project.
Every effort is made to exhaust dyes fully, however there may be some colour bleeding on first washing. Please be aware of this if you combine the yarn with a lighter colour.
Colourways
Colourways may be repeated but they will not necessarily stay exactly the same - for this reason all yarn & fibre is offered on a 'one-of-a-kind' basis. Inspiration comes from many sources including mythology and legend. Whilst I do not take custom orders, if you have an idea for a particular colourway then we would be very happy to hear from you!
Payment
You can pay by credit or debit card, or Paypal. Our payments are securely processed by either Stripe or Paypal according to the choice you make at checkout. You will receive email confirmation of your order and a receipt for your payment.
Refunds, returns and replacements
We take great pride in the quality of our products, so if you are in any way unhappy with your order, please do contact us right away and we will do everything possible to make it right.
We are able to refund or replace items returned in their original condition, however unfortunately we cannot refund the cost of postage.
Postage
All items are currently sent out using Royal Mail. Orders should be sent within 5 working days, usually less. If there's any delay to your order we'll contact you as soon as possible. Everything listed on the site is ready to ship.
Items are sent using non-tracked post. If you'd like a quote for insuring your parcel, please contact us.
